To address audio pops, crackles, and audio distortion, try the following suggestions:
- Ensure that the volume does not exceed 100% on overlapping clips (such as an audio track + video track). Lower the volume on individual clips if needed.
- Ensure that you edit, preview, and export using the same audio sample rate. When exporting the video, verify the audio sample rate of all your source files matches the sample rate of your settings in OpenShot.
- Ensure that you edit using the same frame rate as your source files.
- Export your project at the same frame rate as your source clips.
- Ensure that all video source clips have the same frame rate.
- Export your project at the same frame rate as your source clips.
- Resize the preview window and use a lower resolution profile to help lower CPU needs while editing your project.
- Click the Choose Profile button in the top toolbar to choose a lower resolution profile.
- Shrink the size of the preview window by clicking and dragging the ⠇ symbols below and to the left of the preview window.
- Use a free software audio converter such as Audacity to convert your audio to an uncompressed format such as WAV. OpenShot prefers editing and exporting using uncompressed audio clips.
